Many people blindly think that the big household retail names with the banners of huge discounts are automatically cheap.
In fact, they are often expensive. Mark up can be as much as 10 times from production cost. Price Fixing agreements
and other agreements will limit choice to the consumer to under 1% of what is actually available on the free market.
Price Fixing is ofen linked to re-branding, so the actual people making the profits do not even make the products. They
are experts in marketing, market control, advertising, and confidence building.
Government has always been very reluctant to take on big business in the UK, but pressure is mounting from consumers.
Here's an email from Damixa stating that beating B and Q was not acceptable! Damixa is owned
by the US giant Masco.
